Skeet Thrower Helps enhance Marksmanship

A skeet thrower is an basic piece of equipment for the game produced by Charles E. Davies back in the early 20th century called skeet shooting. Shooters need a way to enhance their reaction time, their aim and their ability to quickly and precisely hit a small moving target and a skeet thrower enables them to do just that. The information skeet comes from the Scandinavian term meaning to shoot.

A skeet launcher is a device that is either operated manually or automatically to throw a small round disk called a skeet or a clay pigeon high into the air to serve as the target for the shooter. already by skeet resemble a dinner plate or frisbee, it would not be possible for an individual to throw them with enough force high enough into the air as target practice for the shooter, so consequently a skeet thrower must be employed.

The manual skeet target thrower, also called a manual trap, features a spring loaded throwing arm. Once a single skeet is loaded into the arm, it can be launched into the air at a variety of angles and heights. Once the shooter is ready to aim for the target, the shooter yells “pull” and the person operating the manual skeet thrower launches the clay pigeon into the air.

An automatic skeet thrower operates on the same principles as the manual version, but is usually much more expensive than its manually operated style. One advantage to an automatic skeet thrower is that it can be fitted with a foot pedal so that the shooter can automatically cause the clay pigeon to be launched into the air as target practice. An automatic skeet clay thrower also has the option of throwing the clay pigeon to roll along the ground to simulate game instead of birds.

The advantage of using an automatic skeet target thrower is that there is less waiting time required between the skeet being launched either into the air or along the ground. A portable automatic skeet thrower can be stacked to keep up as many as 50 skeet at one time and these can be launched in rapid series, either by another individual operating the skeet clay thrower or by the shooter himself using a foot pedal to control the speed of skeet launches.
