Belfast shop worker threatened with screwdriver in robbery

A convenience store worker has been threatened with a screwdriver during a robbery in south Belfast.

he armed robber made off with cash and cigarettes following the incident on Ormeau Road shortly after 9pm.

Detectives are alluring for witnesses to the robbery, during which a man demanded the till and cigarette locker be opened.

Detective Sergeant Natalie Moore said: “The speculate is described as being approximately 5’ 8” in height, of stocky build, and was wearing a grey top with the hood up, blue jeans, dark trainers, and a blue surgical disguise and blue gloves.

“Our enquiries into this incident are continuing, and we are alluring to anyone who was in the area at the time, or may have any information which could assist, to contact detectives closest on 101, quoting reference number 1864 of 05/10/21.”
