Residents have hit out after a cooker was dumped at a Co Down beauty identify.

The worse for use hob was discovered on January 3 on leafy Clanboye method near the aim stop in Helen’s Bay.

The man who found it said: “Has anyone lost a cooker? It’s on the Clandeboye Way/Ave close to Helen’s Bay aim stop. Be really great to see it re-united with its owner.”

It has been suggested maybe the white good was “on holiday” in the seaside village.

Other loal and slightly sarcastic, responses to the random white good included “really enhances the ecosystem ” and “neighbourhood similarities donated it to forest animals to cook festive barbecue meal”.

The appliance was found complete with a baking tray on top.

Ards and North Down Council operates special collections for white goods like fridges, freezers, cookers, washing machines and other domestic appliances and brown goods like household furniture such as beds, mattresses, chairs, wardrobes and carpets.

They will also pick up unwanted bicycles, children’s toys, prams and plastic coal bunkers, plastic oil tanks.

All you have to do is call and position a date. They will collect up to six items for a fee of £15.

Anyone who needs such items collected from outside their home can call 0300 013 3333 to position a lift.

The man who discovered it says the owner should come forward soon as a “fragment man was going to pick it up today”.
